Eva Beatrice Smith

Co-owner of Lovett’s Jewelry Store

Eva Beatrice Hollingsworth Smith, 80, of Toccoa, died Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at the Clary Care Center.

A daughter of the late Squire H. and Omie Busby Hollingsworth, she was born March 19, 1928, in Enid, Miss., having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She was co-owner of Lovett’s Jewelry Store in Toccoa for a number of years. She was a member of Toccoa First Presbyterian Church and Tab Lawrence Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Smith, who died in 2004.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Susan and Mark Hopkins of Brooks, and Janice and Lee Parker of Morganton; five grandchildren, Heather Hopkins, Dean Hopkins, Thomas Parker, Christine Parker and Jackson Parker; three brothers-in-law, Vernon Smith of Toccoa, Martin Smith of Oklahoma, and Ralph Buller of Kansas; and four sisters-in-law, Velda Vogt of Kansas, Anita Smith of Nebraska, Eloise Smith of Colorado and Shirley Busby of Mississippi.

Funeral services were held Sunday, July 20, at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. David Keister officiating. Interment followed in Stephens Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Mark Hopkins, Lee Parker, Kevin Scott, Roger Loggins, Gerald Calhoun and Larry Smith.

Acree-Davis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
