Michelle Sheriff of Toccoa recently donated three laptop computers to the office of Dr. Cynthia Shepherd and the Longstreet Cancer Center of Toccoa.
Sheriff said the donation came as part of her "give back project" in drug court.
"My mother has Stage 4 cancer and spends quite a bit of time (at the cancer center) receiving treatment," Sheriff said.
Sheriff said that the center had previously allowed visitors to enter the center with patients but that changed when the coronavirus pandemic struck last year.
"Now, no one is allowed in the building except the patients," Sheriff said.
"I thought if I donated a few tablets to the center, that could allow the patients to be able to stay in touch with their families while receiving treatment plus give them something to do while they are there," Sheriff said.
"I pray for each and every one who enters the building, may God bless you all," Sheriff said.
