Stephens County elections supervisor Bruce Carlisle has been assigned a position to the state board of corrections.
The board’s 19 members are appointed by the governor, with state senate consent, and serve staggered five year terms.
The board’s assignments include ensuring the conduct and welfare of employees under its authority such as the assignment, housing, feeding, clothing, treatment, discipline, rehabilitation, training, and hospitalization of all inmates coming under its custody.
Prior to serving as Stephens elections supervisor, Carlisle served for many years in law enforcement before retiring.
