Stephens County commissioners are scheduled to meet at 9 a.m. tomorrow (Jan. 27) at the Toccoa-Stephens County Airport to discuss a wide range of topics.
The annual planning retreat includes discussions about a new elections building, live streaming meetings, land use ordinance text amendments, and more.
The agenda is as follows.
• Administration — National Association of Counties (NACo) membership, live streaming meetings, screening of planning items, national opioid funds, local assistance and tribal consistency funds.
• Building and Grounds — new election building, old jail, Casey’s Pro Tire, Farmer’s Market survey and paving.
• County clerk — permit changes and updates.
• Drug court—case manager proposal.
• Finance — mid-term financial report, budget level of control.
• Fire department — new Eastanollee fire building.
• Human resources—county insurance.
• Marshals — proposed ordinance amendment.
• Parks and Recreation — facilities user agreement.
• Planning and Zoning—Land Use Ordinance text amendments.
• Public works — 2023 in-house paving roads list, Martin road maintenance agreement update.
• Rescue unit — new rescue building.
• Sheriff — inmate work care.
