Record Island on Prather Bridge Road hasn't been in business for a number of years.
Not as far as selling vinyl albums anyway.
Last week, four people were arrested there after what Toccoa police chief Jimmy Mize said was a month-long investigation related to the distribution of methamphetamine.
Search warrants were obtained for the Record Island building and another residence on Highpoint Avenue.
"The search warrants were the result of a month-long investigation into Peter Jay Moses distributing methamphetamine in the city of Toccoa and Stephens County," Mize said.
A number of law enforcement agencies were involved in the searches, Mise said.
In addition to the Toccoa Police Department's narcotics unit, the Stephens County Sheriff's Office Special Resources Team (SRT), the Appalachian Regional Drug Enforcement Office (ARDEO), and the FBI North Georgia Major Offender's Task Force aided in the search and arrests.
Mize said the SRT sheriff's office team performed the search at Record Island.
That resulted in the arrests of Moses, 44, and Stormey Brasher, 40, both of Toccoa, on a charge of distributing methamphetamine.
Also arrested at the Record Island location were George Edmind, 62, and Terral L. Tate, 42, both of Toccoa. They were charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Mize said the police department, ARDEO, and the FBI performed the second search on Highpoint Avenue.
"Inside that residence, methamphetamine and heroin were located," Mize said.
Two Toccoa residents were arrested at the Highpoint Avenue location.
Monica Leigh Barnes, 46, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin.
John Daniel Barnes, 53, was charged with possession of heroin.
"Toccoa PD continues to work the case and more arrests are expected," Mize said, adding his appreciation of the assistance of the sheriff's office, ARDEO, and the FBI.
