A 63-year-old resident of Martin was arrested early Monday morning after deputies responded to a medical call on Pueblo Trail.
Sheriff Randy Shirley said that it was around 3 a.m. on June 13 deputies were dispatched to the Pueblo Trail address in reference to an unresponsive man.
"Once deputies and Stephens County EMS (emergency medical service) arrived, attempts were unsuccessful in reviving the unresponsive male," Shirley said.
He was identified as Matthew Eric Phillips, age 50.
"The Stephens County Coroner's Office was notified of the death," Shirley said.
Shirley said deputies saw smoking devices and suspected methamphetamine while they were at the address.

Shirley said a safe was found in a bedroom that contained an assortment of suspected drugs such as methamphetamine, marijuana, LSD, ecstasy, THC edibles, and THC cartridges as well as packaging materials and scales.
Robert Mitchell O'Shields was arrested on multiple drug charges that included trafficking methamphetamine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, possession of ecstasy with intent to distribute.
