The Stephens County Sheriff's Office reported Tuesday that two Toccoa residents were arrested in early April on drug charges.
Sheriff Randy Shirley said the arrests brought to a close an investigation that began after complaints about a man selling drugs at several local motels.
Shirley said the investigation resulted in a search warrant for a room at the Regency Inn on West Currahee Street.
"After entering the motel room, investigators located a Pepsi drink container that is typically used to conceal contraband," Shirley said.
He said inside the container there was an ounce of pre-packaged methamphetamine
Also discovered in the room were 20 methadone tables, marijuana, packaging material, and several digital scales, Shirley said.
Suspects arrested were David Howell, 42, and Kate Watkins, 27.
Howell and Watkins were both charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of a Schedule II with intent to distribute.
