Steeped in tradition and merriment, the Toccoa Symphony Orchestra will hold its annual Christmas Concert along with an art show and sale on Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Grace Alford Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Toccoa Falls College.
The concert is the first concert of the 2023-2024 concert season and is presented by 1st Franklin Financial.
The festivities kick off at 2 p.m. with an art show and sale hosted by members of the Currahee Artists’ Guild.
Enjoy meeting talented artists while shopping for a special gift for everyone on your list.
Pottery, jewelry, paintings, photography, fine craft and more will be featured.
Holiday refreshments will be served.
At 4 p.m., the Orchestra, led by conductor, Dr. Benji Stegner, takes the stage to brighten your Christmas spirit.
The Orchestra will perform Fantasia on Greensleeves, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Jingle Bells Forever and more.
And, in keeping with the long-running TSO tradition, the audience is invited to sing along with the Orchestra as they perform a medley of well-known Christmas carols.
The much-anticipated highlight of the evening is the performance of the Toccoa Community Choir led by Dr. Thomas Council, dean of professional studies and professor of Choral Music at Toccoa Falls College.
The hundred-voice choir will fill the concert hall with sounds of the season, singing arrangements of Joy to the World, Gloria in Excelsis, Little Drummer Boy and other holiday music selections.
As a special treat, the Stephens County High School Marching Band Drum Line will make a guest appearance.
For the finale, the audience is invited to join the Orchestra and Choir on stage to sing the ultimate Christmas song, Hallelujah.
Tickets for the Christmas Concert for adults are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.
Children and students are $5 in advance and $7 at the door.

All seats are general admission.

The Toccoa Symphony Orchestra is a full- sized Orchestra of 50 to 60 talented musicians led by conductor Dr. Benji Stegner.
Founded in 1977, the Orchestra performs three concerts per season featuring “pop” tunes and classical symphonic music selections.
The Orchestra also holds a fund-raising event Gala in February and a summer outdoor concert, “Patriotic Pops, in late June.
Special guest vocalists and instrumentalists frequently join the Symphony providing the residents of northeast Georgia with a first-class musical experience.
