Mario the Maker Magician will make his third appearance at the historic Ritz Theatre on Friday, Jan. 20, at 7 p.m. for a Night at the Ritz performance.
More than just a performer, Mario is also an inventor who creates his own props.
He is known for his dedication to the Maker Movement and STEAM initiatives and his integration of do it yourself (DIY) electronics and robotics into his performance.
It’s magic through the lens of the Maker Movement, a trend in which individuals or groups of individuals create and market products that are recreated and assembled using unused, discarded or broken electronic, plastic, silicon or virtually any raw material and/or product from a computer-related device.
Throw in a healthy dose of hilarity and you have Mario.
He is a Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin for the modern age, with a mad inventor twist and has been featured on Sesame Street and Sprout.
The show is ideal for children ages 3-10 and their families and runs approximately 60 minutes, without intermission.
This Night at the Ritz show is the first of 2023.
It is funded in part by generous grants received from the National Endowment for the Arts and Georgia Council for the Arts.
Tickets may be purchased online at www.ritztheatretoccoa.com, at the Main Street Toccoa office, or at the box office day of show.
Adult tickets are $10, children under 12 and students with an ID are $5. Doors will open at 6 p.m.
