Stephens County commissioner Michelle Ivester on Tuesday praised the work on installation of a kayak/canoe launch dock with concrete steps and railing at Yonah Dam Park. The Toccoa-Stephens County Schools Hall of Fame is seeking nominations for the Class of 2019. The hall was established to recognize outstanding graduates and former educators of the Toccoa and Stephens County school systems.

County voters to decide fate of new SPLOST Nov. 5.

Early voting for Stephens County's Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) will begin in mid-October, according to elections superintendent Eureka Gober. County and city municipalities recently agreed to splitting the proceeds from the 1 percent sales tax should voters choose to continue allowing the collections after the current one ends on June 30, 2020.
