Main Street Toccoa is encouraging local shoppers to “shop small” this holiday season.
That’s “small” as in small business. Small Business Saturday will be observed Saturday, Nov. 26 in Toccoa.
“This year, on November 26th, 2022, save some room on your shopping lists and visit downtown Toccoa to support your friends and families in the community that own or operate a small business downtown,” Sharon Crosby of the Main Street Toccoa program said.
Main Street Toccoa will once again participate in Small Business Saturday, an annual event hosted by the Small Business Association, Main Street America, and American Express.
Those who “shop small” from Saturday, Nov. 26 to Thursday, Dec. 1, will have a chance of winning $300 cash and two $100 cash giveaways sponsored by downtown businesses.
For every purchase made on Saturday, Nov. 26, at participating businesses, you will receive two entries into the drawing.
Customers will receive one entry per person for purchases made the following week. Remember, this is for every store you shop.
The lucky winner will be announced on Friday, Dec. 2 at the downtown Christmas Fest.
Small Business Saturday reminds us that the small brick-and-mortar storefronts in our community are the lifeblood of our business climate, Crosby said.
For every dollar spent at a small business in the United States, 67 cents of that stays in the community.
“This is a great opportunity to rally behind and support Downtown as the heart and soul of Toccoa,” Crosby said.
