America turns 250

The Edgar Loudermilk Band will be the headlining performer at the Ida Cox concert on Saturday night at 8 p.m. to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Before them will be Ron Hartzog at 6 p.m., who will sing patriotic tunes, and Hotel Street at 7 p.m. performing a variety of light rock hits.

Toccoa Rookie League all-stars and their coaches celebrated the District 7 championship in Hartwell Monday night. Team members are (not in order) Kingston Schultz, Chase Hickman, Huck Thomas, Easton Koppin, Rex Youngblood, Grayson Turk, William Stein, Elijah Newkirk, Cohen Gastley, Jasper Ebadolahi, Emerson Edge and Cooper Teater. In the back are Toccoa Little League president Doug McCollum and all-star coaches Michael Koppin, Luke Youngblood, Kaleb Turk and Zac Stein.
