The City of Avalon will hold qualifying for Mayor, Post 2 and Post 4. These are for a 4-year term to begin on January 01, 2021. Post 5 qualifying will be filling a 1-year term. Mayor qualifying fee is $50.40; Post 2, Post 4 and Post 5 qualifying fees are $43.20 each. Those wishing to qualify must file the required forms, live within the City of Avalon and pay the designated fee. The office hours for qualifying will be Tuesday, August 11 through Friday, August 14 by 12:00 noon; office hours each day will be 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. The office will be closed 12:00 to 1:00 for lunch each day. Avalon City Hall is located at 211 Sisk Road, Martin, Georgia.
