Stephens County Indian wrestler Nathan Walker is the second best in the Class AAA 195-weight class in the state.
Walker wrestled his way to a runner-up finish in state wrestling tournament staged in Macon.
Walker went into the GHSA championship tournament as the No. 2 seed coming out of sectionals earning him a bye in the first round.
Walker then posted wins in the second round and third round via pins of his opponents.
The second and third round victories advanced Walker to the championship round against Jebb Knight of Sonoraville.
The state championship was a rematch of the sectional championship that featured the same two wrestlers.
Knight had defeated Walker in the sectional finals and did so again at Macon to win the state title in the 195-pound division.
Knight won by a 4-1 margin.
Walker along with Siena Malek, Nick Randall, Nathan Lewallen, Grady Sanders, Tyler Fulbright and Solomon Dupree all represented SCHS in the Georgia High School Association championships.
The Tribe cracked the top half in team scoring in the championships. SCHS finished in 19th place out of 40 schools in the championships.
