Toccoa-Stephens County better get ready for a night of fun and music because the Power of Love tribute band is coming to town on Saturday, May 20 at the historic Ritz Theatre.
The Power of Love is a tribute band featuring the music of Huey Lewis and the News.
The front man of the group is Tommy C who plays the saxophone and sings.
He’s worked with artists such as Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Fats Domino, Little Richard, Bo Diddley, Chubby Checker and many more.
After friends told him he sounded a lot like Huey Lewis he started a tribute band to pay homage to the music icon.
Lewis is currently 72-years old and unable to make his music anymore due to having the debilitating meunière disease.
The disease causes loss of hearing and has left Lewis without the ability to sing.
Lewis was at the height of his career between 1983 and 1987. One of his most popular songs is the centerpiece of the Back To The Future movie.
Tommy C said he’s been around music his entire life with his brother being a renowned jazz trumpeter and vocalist in New Orleans and his son playing drums with Ozzy Osbourne.
