Friends of the Ritz, Inc will host its first fundraiser of the 2021-2022 season by bringing award-winning entertainer Katie Deal to the historic Ritz Theatre for a Dolly Parton-inspired Christmas show on Saturday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m.
Deal, along with her five-piece Nashville band, will perform a Holly Dolly Christmas, a show guaranteed to get you in the holiday spirit.
A Gainesville, Georgia-born artist and a Piedmont alumna, Katie is best known for her authentic country sound.
She is the 2016 recipient of the Georgia Country Artist of the Year Award and an honored member of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame.
As a recording artist and singer-songwriter, Katie has written and/or performed with top Nashville songwriters Bruce Burch (Reba McEntire), Amanda Colleen Williams (Garth Brooks), Brandon Bush (Sugarland) and John Driskell Hopkins (Zac Brown Band).
She has opened shows for country legends John Conlee, Sammy Kershaw, Collin Raye, B.J. Thomas, and Country Family Reunion (Bill Anderson, Jeannie Seely, T.G. Sheppard).
Katie has performed with country icon, Loretta Lynn and is also a frequent guest vocalist with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra.
Katie and her band were selected to be the featured entertainment for Georgia Public Broadcasting’s gala event honoring Brenda Lee in 2019.
As an actress, Katie has been featured in two major motion films (Let’s Be Cops and Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk), numerous commercials and touring productions.
Katie has produced her own theatrical concerts which have toured internationally.
She is a budding playwright and co-creator of several theatrical concerts, including Classic Nashville Road Show with Jason Petty; Today, Tomorrow & Forever: A Tribute to Patsy Cline and Wildflowers: The Women of County Music.
Katie holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Piedmont University, cum laude and is a proud member of Actor’s Equity Association.
