The Toccoa-Stephens County Library kicked of its 2022 Summer Reading Program on Tuesday with magician Ken Scott performing at the Ritz Theater.
Under the theme of Oceans of Possibilities, this year’s reading program will include ocean-related crafts, art projects, science and engineering projects and stories.
“The 2022 Sumer Reading Program is open to all age groups with programs, prize drawings, story-times, and more,” said library children and youth services specialist Shantelle Grant.
Registration for the program began on Wednesday, June 1.
Grant said the schedule this year includes a summer reading party which will be held in the library parking lot on Wednesday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to noon.
That event, she said, is sponsored by Kinetic/Windstream.
“There will be music, goodies, and the Kona Ice Truck to help us celebrate,” Grant said.
Also on the schedule, is a visit from the mobile agriculture classroom trailer on June 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. sponsored by Farm Bureau of Toccoa and Agency Partners.
“Everyone is welcome to participate in the summer reading program,” Grant said.
