The lighting of the giant Toccoa-Stephens County Christmas tree on the lawn of the historic courthouse will kick off the annual Toccoa Christmas Fest Friday night.
The tree lighting will begin at 6 p.m. and include a performance of the Toccoa Jazz ensemble.
Other activities starting at 6 p.m. Friday include:
• Visiting with Santa.
• The Festival of Trees inside the historic courthouse building.
• A live nativity scene.
• An elves’ workshop.
• The Christmas Sage Market on Doyle Street featuring arts and crafts.
• Horse-drawn carriage rides through the lighted streets of downtown.
• Chick-fil-a full service food truck
• Mike’s on the Go food.
• Victorian-era carolers.
• Ice skating available in the parking lot off Tugalo Street.
• Downtown stores open with extended hours for holiday shpping.
• The historic courthouse and grounds decorated in a Winter Wonderland.
Entertainment at Tugalo Street and Sage Street. This will include:
• 6 p.m. – Toccoa Jazz.
• 7 p.m. – 8 p.m. Toccoa Carolers.
• 8 p.m. – Tugalo Holler bluegrass band.
The Christmas Fest event continues on into Saturday, Dec. 7 with the following;
• 8 -10 a.m. Breakfast with Santa at the X-Factor Grill
• Noon to 4 p.m. – Christmas Sage Market, Star Theatre building.
• 1-4 p.m. – Festival of Trees in the historic Stephens County Courthouse
• 4 p.m. – The Christmas Parade throought downtown.
