The 2019 Toccoa Christmas Parade will be held Saturday, Dec. 7 at 4 p.m. in downtown Toccoa.
Theme for this year’s parade will be The Real Meaning of Christmas.
The parade is sponsored by the Toccoa Woman’s Club and its members are encouraging all businesses and churches to participate.
“In our world of hustle and bustle, we should take time to remember what Christmas means to us and our families,” said Brenda Chapman of the woman’s club.
“Many years ago, most businesses and churches participated in the Christmas Parade and hundreds of people came from all over to see the floats,” Chapman said.
“It is a happy time seeing the children catch the candy being thrown from the floats and waiting in anticipation to see Santa Claus,” she said.
Parade applications can be found on the Toccoa-Stephens County web site or at Headquarters (Bonnie Sparks hair salon).
Entry fees are $20 for a school group and $30 for a technical college, school clubs, church/civic groups, recreation department, YMCA/Camp Fire/Scouts/Civil Air Patrol/National Guard.
Entry fee for all other groups such as business/industry/day care/private instructors is $30.
If you have questions, call Sparks at 706-716-0490 or Chapman at 706-886-6276.
Deadline for submission of parade applications will be Saturday, Nov. 23.
