On Friday, April 3, 2020, staff at the Clary Care Center were working to arrange the transfer of one of its residents to another facility.
The individual was in good health, but the receiving facility required that any incoming individual be tested for COVID-19.
This individual, who was and remains asymptomatic, returned a positive COVID-19 test result.
The hospital immediately isolated the individual, notified the Department of Public Health (DPH), and have informed all the families of all residents in the facility.
The hospital reported that the case had been thoroughly investigated by an infection prevention team in collaboration with the DPH.
DPH told the hospital that staff were taking all necessary precautions to ensure the safety of residents and staff.
The individual under isolation continued to be monitored as of Monday morning.
”The safety of our residents Is our top priority and we want to reassure the public that we are expending every resource available to ensure that safety. We will release more information as soon as it becomes available,” said hospital officials.
