Basketball teams to hold reunions

     The first high school basketball teams of the combined Toccoa High and Stephens County High schools will hold a 50th reunion on Saturday, Jan. 9.
     The 1971-72 SCHS Lady Indian basketball team will be recognized during halftime of the SCHS-Madison County game at Currahee Arena.
     The game will tip off at 4 p.m.
     The 1971-72 Indian boys will be recognized during halftime of the boys game against Madison.
     The Indians of ‘71-’72 won 22 straight games before being upset in the sub-region tournament.
     A hospitality room for the reunion will be available to the ‘71-’72 team members.
      Lady Indian team members that year included Faye Banks, Hollie Pulliam, Mary Helen Baker, Susan Stinespring, Sandra Benton, Cathy Sheriff and Nancy Longford.
     They were coached by Mack Poss in his first year at SCHS.
     Indian basketball team members included Roy Holland, Jeff Deal, Kenny Waters, Ronnie Jackson.
     Also, Steve Coker, Steve Thompson, Danny Maxwell, Gary Kesler, Joel Trimier, Greg Smith.
     And, Jimmy Thompson, Mike Cox, Terry Reed and Ken Harper.
     Coach was Charlie Morris.
