American Idol star coming to Ritz Theatre

BY MICHAEL O’HEARN THE TOCCOA RECORD A former American Idol star is making his way to Toccoa tonight to perform at The Ritz Theatre.Will Moseley, the runner up of American Idol’s Season 22 last year, is a Hazlehurst, Georgia, native. His concert begins at 6 p.m.

Toccoa man dies in Busha St. fire

County’s millage rate approved

BY J. TODD TRUELOVETHE TOCCOA RECORD Stephens County commissioners on Monday approved millage rates for the 2026 fiscal year of 27.45 mills for unincorporated and 29.69 mills for incorporated properties. That’s the total sum adding the school system’s recommended 13.

County BOC OKs vehicle purchases

BY J. TODD TRUELOVETHE TOCCOA RECORD      The Stephens County Government on Tuesday approved more than half a million dollars in vehicle purchases.
A group of 16 Stephens County residents participated in the seventh annual Bible reading on July 14 at the historic courthouse on Tugalo Street. Each participant read a different verse from the Bible during the event.
