Toccoa First United Methodist will host a number of Holy Week worship services April 3-7.
At noon each weekday (Monday through Friday) the church will sponsor a lunch hour service from noon to 1 p.m. in its Cheek Hall featuring a message from a local pastor.

Sheriff Randy Shirley this week announced the takedown of a drug trafficking organization earlier this month.
Shirley said that on Friday, March 3, the Sheriff’s Traffic Interdiction Narcotics and Gangs unit (STING) obtained a search warrant for a Cheek Smith Road address.

Daylight Savings Time will return Sunday, March 12 at 2 a.m.
That willl mean an extra hour of daylight in the evenings.
However, you will lose an hour of sleep when you turn in for bed on Saturday night and you push your clocks ahead one hour.

All About Grace event coming to Toccoa First United Methodist Church

All About Grace, an annual community event for women, will be held Saturday, March 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Toccoa First United Methodist Church.
Started in 2007 and held annually, there is no admission fee or registration required for the All About Grace event.

Indian basketball team competing for region championship

If the Stephens County can defeat Monroe Area tonight in the finals of the Region 8-AAA basketball tournament, it will be the first time in 45 years an Indian boys basketball team will be region champs. Indian teams played for region championships in 2017, 1992 and 1979, but lost their title bids.
