Peach State Federal Credit Union donates to Neighbors 4 Neighbors

   Neighbors 4 Neighbors recently received a $1,000 donation from Peach State Federal Credit Union’s C.A.R.E.S. Foundation. N4N is a non-profit food pantry for Stephens County with a mission “to nourish all who come through our doors, those in need and those who serve.

On May 3, the Byrne Brothers will grace the stage of the Ritz Theatre to bring Irish music and dancing to Toccoa. The group hails from Donegal, Ireland, and is a multi-award-winning band that is taking the Irish American scene by storm.

SCHS recognizes Top 5

     Stephens County High School (SCHS) has named its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2024 and recognized the Rotary Club of Toccoa’s’ Top 5 students.    Valedictorian Garvin Robinson and Salutatorian Sailor Ott were also two of the senior class’ Top 5.

Rotary donates to Camp Toccoa

Recently, the Toccoa Rotary Club presented Warren Johnston, right, a check for $1,000 for Camp Toccoa at Currahee. Johnston assured all those present the money would go to the upkeep of the museums on-site at the camp.

   A group of eight actors who portrayed military members on the hit 2001 series “Band of Brothers” were in town last week to honor those servicemen at Camp Toccoa and the R.G. LeTourneau/Toccoa-Stephens County airport.

Second annual bluegrass festival scheduled in Toccoa

   Edgar Loudermilk of the Edgar Loudermilk Band is hosting the second annual Toccoa Ritz Bluegrass Festival on April 5, 6, and 7.    Loudermilk started his over 20-year career playing in family bands in the late 90s before getting hired as the new bass player for Rhonda Vincent.
