     Renowned fiddler and storyteller Connor Civatte of Glasgow, Scotland, will perform  at Steadfast Family Farm on Sunday, Aug. 27.      The free concert will begin at 7:30 p.m.with donations proceeds going to support the ministry of the farm.      The farm is located at 556 N.

       Stephens County elections supervisor Bruce Carlisle has been assigned a position to the state board of corrections.      The board’s 19 members are appointed by the governor, with state senate consent, and serve staggered five year terms.

     The Stephens County school system recently received an $8,000 grant from the Georgia Department of Education to cultivate new homegrown teachers.      “Funds will support ‘Grow Your Own’ teacher recruitment pathways in school districts,” DOE spokeswoman Meghan Frick reported on June 26.
