Stephens County Girls' Soccer falls in region championship to Oconee County

For the first time in over a decade, the Stephens County the Lady Indian soccer team earned the right to host a state playoff game.                         The Lady Indians accomplished the feat when they wrapped up the regular season as the No. 2 seed from Region 8-AAA.

Stephens County beats St. Joseph 11-1 in spring break win

 The Stephens County Indian baseball team enjoyed a spring break week victory over St. Joseph’s Catholic High School of Greenville, S.C. here on Monday, April 5.                         The Indians ripped the Knights in an 11-1 five inning win.

   The Stephens County Lady Indian soccer team will play for the Region 8-AAA championship on Wednesday, April 14.                         The Lady Indians secured a spot in the title game when they defeated East Jackson 4-0 last Friday in Commerce.

Stephens County baseball takes one of three in East Jackson series

   The Stephens County Indian baseball team took one out of three games in the East Jackson series last week.                         On Tuesday, March 30, SCHS dropped the first game of the region series 5-4 here.

Stephens County JROTC rifle team fall in semi-finals to Union County

 The drive toward a possible state championship ended last week for the Stephens County JROTC rifle team.                         Union Grove bounced Stephens County from the state playoffs by a score of 1,115 to 1,094 in a semi-final match held here Wednesday, March 31.

Stephens County Track places seventh and eighth in Battle of Blue Ridge

The Stephens County  High School track and field teams finished in fifth and seventh place in the Battle of The Blue Ridge staged at Habersham Central last Friday.

   Kiki Howard of Stephens County High School is a young woman of many shoes.                          Throughout her high school career, she often laced up her cheerleading shoes and basketball shoes all in the same day.

Kyle Watson chooses Reinhardt University

Kyle Watson is headed to Reinhardt University in Waleska to play football.                          At a ceremony at Stephens County High School last week, Watson signed to play with the Eagles.
