Stephens County baseball inexperience looking to step up

 The 2020 Stephens County Indian baseball season was an unfulfilled campaign, according to head coach Greg McCall.                         The season was hampered by early cancellations due to inclement weather and then canceled outright after the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic in March.

Stephens County basketball ends regular season with blowout win

The Stephens County Indian basketball team ended the regular season on a positive note with a pair of wins last week.                         One was a 75-65 win over Monroe Area and last Friday they picked up a 77-47 blowout win against East Jackson.

Stephens County wrestling places three in state championships in Macon

      The Stephens County Indian wrestling team placed three wrestlers in the top five finishers at the state individual tournament staged last week in Macon.                         Those three wrestlers were Athena Malek, Mason Norton and Nathan Walker.

Stephens County gets runner-up finish

On Jan 23 the Stephens County Wrestling team claimed Area Duals runners-up. Indian Wrestling went to Sonoraville High School to face off in the GHSA AAA state prelims for duals. As the No. 2 seed heading into the day things looked bright for Stephens County.

The Stephens County Lady Indians knocked off region leader East Jackson 45-28 here last Saturday and celebrated an individual milestone en route to the victory.

Stephens County Basketball improves last season's mark with region win

The Stephens County Indians basketball team eclipsed its region and overall wins total from last season with a 63-45 pounding of East Jackson here Saturday.                         Last Saturday’s Region 8-AAA win against the Eagles improved the Tribe’s record to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in the region.

Stephens County Indians Gamarion Carter and Jahari Burns make All-State

Stephens County football team has put two of their own on the All-State team. Gamarion Carter has been chosen as a first team All-State wide-receiver by Recruit Georgia and by the AJC/Georgia High School Football Daily. Carter has signed with Vanderbilt University to play football.

Stephens County graduate Jarrett Scott impacting Piedmont College Soccer

Stephens County High School graduate Jarrett Scott is making an impact on Piedmont College’s soccer program.                          As a freshman in 2019-2020, the former Indian experienced plenty of playing time as he was featured in 17 games and made 10 starts.

Zemily Shirley inks with Emmanuel College Acrobatic & Tumbling

 Stephens County High School cheerleader Zemily Shirley will be tumbling on a new mat after her high school career closes this year.                          Shirley will compete in acrobatics and tumbling for Emmanuel College.
