Two juveniles arrested in bomb threat hoax

BY MICHAEL O’HEARNTHE TOCCOA RECORDA bomb threat hoax at the Eastanollee Walmart resulted in two juveniles with charges of being unruly.The incident occurred on Thursday, July 9, around 4:30 p.m.

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD    The City of Toccoa closed the 2025-2026 fiscal year with some $2.8 million in cash reserves.   That was one of the numerous highlights of a strong fiscal year delivered to city commissioners Monday by city finance director Becky Bohannon.

BY MICHAEL O’HEARNTHE TOCCOA RECORD Toccoa Falls College is now the University of Toccoa Falls.As if by sheer luck, it’s been 50 years since Toccoa Falls Institute changed its name to Toccoa Falls College.
On Sunday night, June 28, the Toccoa Symphony Orchestra performed its annual Patriotic Pops concert at Reflections at Lake Toccoa. There were some surprises, such as John Williams’ “Superman” theme and Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing,” thrown into the setlist. Below, conductor Benji Stegner is leading the orchestra.

America turns 250

The Edgar Loudermilk Band will be the headlining performer at the Ida Cox concert on Saturday night at 8 p.m. to celebrate America’s 250th birthday. Before them will be Ron Hartzog at 6 p.m., who will sing patriotic tunes, and Hotel Street at 7 p.m. performing a variety of light rock hits.
