Voters to consider distilled spirits questions in November

BY MICHAEL O’HEARNTHE TOCCOA RECORDVoters will decide in November if the county can allow and regulate the consumption of distilled spirits by the glass on Sundays.An election referendum with three questions was approved by the Stephens County Board of Commissioners (BOC) Tuesday night.

Stephens properties undervalued

BY J. TODD TRUELOVETHE TOCCOA RECORD Properties in Stephens County have been undervalued in the county’s tax digest for some six years, according to the county’s board of tax assessors.
Downed trees and power lines were left in the wake of a severe storm that ripped through Stephens County on July 10. This was the scene off Cedar Lane on Monday morning, July 13. The National Weather Service said the weather was a microburst with 70 mile per hour winds.
