City of Toccoa planning director Connie Tabor has a new assistant.
Jeremey Ward started in the planning department part-time in January and in May came onboard full-time.
Ward, originally from Alabama, moved with his family to Chester, S.C.

Wills concert comes to Ritz

Tugalo Records and Georgia Legends Concert of Royston recently announced a David Wills album concert set scheduled Friday, June 30, at 7 p.m. at the historic Ritz Theatre.
The concert will also feature country entertainer, the Joe Olds Band of Commerce.

Those are the ideals that make up the Toccoa-Stephens County’s 2023 summer reading program “All Together Now.”
Kick-off for children will be on Friday, June 2, at 3 p.m. at the historic Ritz Theater featuring B-RAD, a magician from from Taylors, S.C.

Toccoa Falls College president Dr. Robert Myers on Tuesday updated Toccoa Rotarians on the status of the institution.
Myers said the college currently has 200 full time employees and many more part time employees.

Pool opens Monday

Toccoa’s Doyle Street Pool will open for the summer season on Monday, May 29. Pool hours will be noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 1-6 p.m. Sunday. Admission to the pool is $3 daily or $170 for a season pass. The pool can be rented on Friday and Saturday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
