Hart EMC will hold its 86th annual meeting Thursday, July 20, at the Hart County High School Gym in Hartwell The annual meeting is a meeting of Hart EMC’s members and a special occasion for members to participate in cooperative business and meet their cooperative leaders and employees.

The Stephens County school system recently received an $8,000 grant from the Georgia Department of Education to cultivate new homegrown teachers. “Funds will support ‘Grow Your Own’ teacher recruitment pathways in school districts,” DOE spokeswoman Meghan Frick reported on June 26.

The City of Toccoa held a retirement reception on Thursday, June 29, honoring special events coordinator Sharon Crosby’s retirement. She retired after 16 years of “dedicated service.
