Teasley completes Army training

Private 2nd Class  Tiana M. Teasley of Toccoa recently completed advanced individual training as  human resource specialist at Ft. Jackson in Columbia, S.C.     She is the daughter of Reginald and Pamelia Teasley of Toccoa.      Teasley graduated from Stephens County High School in May 2018.

The Toccoa-Stephens County Library had 457 children and teenagers participating in its 2019 summer reading program, A Universe of Stories.     Library children's services director Shantelle Grant said this year's program had more participants than the 2018 summer reading campaign.

Suspects charged with vehicular homicide, child molestation, and arson were recently indicted by a Stephens County Grand Jury.     The clerk of court’s office recently released indictments made by the grand jury.

Stephens County wins Scrimmage against White County

Stephens County Indian football coach Wesley Tankersley told his  team not to think that they are the best thing since sliced bread after  the Indians pummelled White County 48-25 in a scrimmage played here last  Thursday.      “It was a good scrimmage for us, obviously, a lot of positives.

High school football season is here

The wait will be over Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.     No more pre-season practices.     No more practice games that don’t count in the standings.     The Stephens County Indians will play Franklin County here Friday in the 2019 football season opener for both teams.
