Urns damaged in Patriot Park

Urns at Patriot Park in the City of Toccoa were damaged over the weekend.
The park is located on Doyle Street across from Regions Bank.
Toccoa police chief Jimmy Mize said the police department is looking for two young white males that were seen in the area near the time of the incident.

Ribbon cutting held for pregnancy center

The Toccoa Life doors are open in its newly-renovated location on Highway 17 south which includes the installation of new ultrasound equipment. The event was celebrated by a Chamber of Commerce-sponsored ribbon cutting ceremony held last Thursday.

Stephens County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Present and former EMS workers recently were served a lunch at their station near Stephens County Hospital and another observation is planned next month.

Stephens County deputies stumbled upon a scene last week to find multiple stolen items including a boat.
Sheriff Randy Shirley said that on Friday, July 19, deputies were serving an arrest warrant on Christine Circle for the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.
