Ribbon cutting held for pregnancy center

The Toccoa Life doors are open in its newly-renovated location on Highway 17 south which includes the installation of new ultrasound equipment. The event was celebrated by a Chamber of Commerce-sponsored ribbon cutting ceremony held last Thursday.

Past and present members of the Stephens County EMS recently gathered to kick off the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the ambulance service. Stephens EMS: 50 years of service

Stephens County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Present and former EMS workers recently were served a lunch at their station near Stephens County Hospital and another observation is planned next month.

This boat, reported stolen in Habersham County, was discovered last Friday in Stephens County by sheriff’s deputies.

Stephens County deputies stumbled upon a scene last week to find multiple stolen items including a boat. Sheriff Randy Shirley said that on Friday, July 19, deputies were serving an arrest warrant on Christine Circle for the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.

Toccoa Elks Lodge 1820 exalted ruler Brian Russell presents a $4,500 check to Food 2 Kids program director Lucy Davis (center). Elks Lodge 1820 competed for and won an Elks National Foundations Community Investment Program grant to support this worthy program.
