For the last month of the 2026 high school baseball season, every time I watched Indian senior Findley Ward pitch, I would get this feeling he reminded me of some other pitcher I had seen along the way in more than 65 years of watching games from T-league to the major leagues.

Track sending nine to state

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD The Stephens County Indians will send a record number of participants to the state track meet scheduled Thursday, May 14 at the University of Georgia’s Spec Towns Track. Nine Indians qualified for the state meet after sectional competition staged Saturday.

Golf qualifies for state tournaments

The Stephens County Indians baseball team defeated the visiting Ringgold Tigers on Friday night in a five-hour battle that concluded with a game featuring 12 innings.
