Tennis sweeps Lanier Longhorns

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD   The Stephens County Indians swept all three singles matches en route to a 4-1 dual match victory over the Lanier Longhorns last week.  Alex Brunt rolled to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles to put the Indians ahead in the non-region match with AAAAA Lanier.

Stephens baseball demolishes Hart

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD     Stephens County snapped a streak of two straight extra inning games with a 12-2 demolition of Hart County here last Friday.  The teams split the first two games of the series  each winning an extra inning contest.

Tennis victorious over Franklin Co.

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD   Both Stephens County tennis teams rolled to key region victories over rival Franklin County here last week.   The Indian boys snapped a three-match losing skid with a narrow 3-2 victory while the Lady Indians blanked the visitors 5-0.

Tennis has mixed results

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD   Stephens County tennis teams played three matches last week with mixed results.   On Tuesday, Feb. 24,  Stephens hosted region 8-AAA opponent West Hall Spartans.  The Lady Indians and Indians teams won 8 of 10 matches in the afternoon contest.

Baseball blanks Lakeside-Evans

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD   Powered by strong starting pitching and a pair of defensive gems, the Stephens County Indians run-ruled visiting Lakeside-Evans 11-0 in five innings here last Friday and improved their record to 6-4 for the season.

Tukes sets school record at Currahee Relays meet

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORDMekelliya Tukes set another school record during the 3rd Annual Currahee Relays staged here Saturday.She broke her own senior girls record in the 300 meter hurdles as she established a new  record mark of 53.5 seconds.

Tennis gets rained out

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD   Rain played havoc with the Stephens County Indians’ 2026 tennis schedule as two matches were rained out and rescheduled.   Matches against Franklin County and Hebron Christian were postponed due to rain meaning the only match Stephens played last week came Tuesday, Feb.
