Tennis gets rained out

Track competes in Dacula

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD    Stephens County High School track team members competed with 800 other athletes in the DAC Sprinters Cup staged in Dacula last Thursday.   “This was one of the biggest meets in the state,” SCHS coach Gordon Thigpen said.

Even for the season

Baseball kicks off 2026 season

Runners set records on opening day

Tennis split by Prince Avenue, East Jackson

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD   The Stephens County Indian tennis teams split a pair of Region 8-AA matches last week.   On Tuesday, Feb. 10, the Indian boys and Lady Indian girls each lost to perennial tennis powerhouse Prince Avenue Christian School and on Thursday, Feb. 12 defeated East Jackson.

Basketball caps seasons with losses

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD   Stephens County basketball teams lost the final two games of the regular season last week.  The Lady Indians lost 63-33 here to Hart County on Tuesday, Feb. 10 and fell 61-48 to Prince Avenue there on Friday.

Two wrestlers compete at state

BY TOM LAWTHE TOCCOA RECORD     A pair of Stephens County Indian wrestlers each finished fifth in the state wrestling tournament held last weekend at Clayton County Convocation Center.   Carter Fowler at 157 lbs. and Garrett Krous at 150 lbs.
