  Stephens County Indian football coach Wesley Tankersley told his  team not to think that they are the best thing since sliced bread after  the Indians pummelled White County 48-25 in a scrimmage played here last  Thursday.      “It was a good scrimmage for us, obviously, a lot of positives.

High school football season is here

    The wait will be over Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.     No more pre-season practices.     No more practice games that don’t count in the standings.     The Stephens County Indians will play Franklin County here Friday in the 2019 football season opener for both teams.

    Although the calendar says this is only the second full week in August, school has been in session for more than two weeks and the 2019 high school football season is just right around the corner.
