JV wins academic bowl regional

    Stephens County High School's junior varsity Academic Bowl team recently won the regional title qualifying to move on to compete in the national academic bowl.     The competitions pits school teams against one another answering questions on a variety of topics.

Sheriff's office job fair upcoming

    Anyone interested in a career in law enforcement can attend a local job fair later this month.     It's the first time the Stephens County Sheriff's Office has held such a fair for potential job candidates to receive information related to the field.

NGTC names leadership award winner

    Elizabeth Hand from Blairsville was named North Georgia Technical College’s 2021 Georgia Occupational Award for Leadership (GOAL) student at last week’s Habersham Rotary meeting.     Nominated by her instructor Martha Marquardt, Hand is a registered nursing student from the Blairsville campus.

    In light of revised guidance from the CDC, Department of Public Health (DPH), and in compliance with executive orders from the Governor’s Office, Stephens County Hospital, its clinics and personal care homes will expanded visitation on a limited basis  effective Monday.

    Explore Georgia, the tourism division of the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), announced on March 2 that it awarded $5,000 in tourism product development grants to Main Street Toccoa.
