SCHS tennis plays final two games

    The Indian tennis teams played their last two games before the region tournament this week against Monroe Area. They also celebrated their senior night where they recognized four graduating seniors. The senior night recognition and the first match against the ‘Canes was on Tuesday, March 19.

Stephens County Junior Varsity football team still undefeated with 5-0 record

  The Stephens County Indian junior varsity football team kept its unbeaten season alive here last week.      The  Indians improved to 5-0 on the 2022 season with a 23-21 conquest of Elbert County at The Reservation.

Stephens County softball upsets and then gets eliminated from playoff play

The last week of the Stephens County Lady Indian softball season involved extreme highs and lows.       SCHS experienced the high of upsetting the No. 1-ranked team in Region 8-AAA, Franklin County, to the low of being eliminated from playoff contention by Oconee County.

Stephens County Cross Country host first home meet since 2009

The Stephens County Cross Country teams hosted their first home meet in 13 years. The Reservation Run featured three schools in the boys and girls divisions and was the first home cross country meet for the Indians since 2009.

Stephens County softball's hot bats not enough against Oconee County in region game

The Stephens County softball bats were hot when they faced Oconee County last week. Although SCHS piled on runs their bats were not enough in the 16-8 loss to Oconee County last week at The Reservation. “I was very satisfied with the bats,” SCHS head coach David Poffenberger said.

Plans for minor league pro basketball team to come into town

There are plans for a professional basketball team to come to Toccoa.       That team is the Georgia Kangaroos who are part of the East Coast Basketball League.       Brian Caswell is the head coach of the team and owner of the organization.
