     Atlanta lawyer and former Stephen County native Bryce Angell sent two horses to this year’s Kentucky Derby.      Angell is part of the West Paces Racing syndicate, and the group had two horses, Dornoch and Society Man, in this year’s race.

Indians track teams compete in regional meet

By Laura Shaw Staff Writer   This week, the Indians’ track teams competed in the region meet on Monday, April 22, and Wednesday, April 24 in Franklin County. The meet had five athletes qualify for sectionals and two more athletes with top 10 finishes in their events.

Lady Indians defeat Sandy Creek

By Laura Shaw The Toccoa Record      The Lady Indians Soccer team competed in the first round of the State tournament on Tuesday, April 16, and earned a sweet sixteen spot. The first-round game was against Sandy Creek High School and was a 7-3 victory for the Lady Indians.

Indians drop to 6th in region; out of playoffs

   The Indians baseball team had a busy week playing three games against Hart County and one game against Walhalla. The Indians also hosted Toccoa Little League Night at the ball field before their Hart doubleheader on Friday, March 29.

SCHS tennis plays final two games

    The Indian tennis teams played their last two games before the region tournament this week against Monroe Area. They also celebrated their senior night where they recognized four graduating seniors. The senior night recognition and the first match against the ‘Canes was on Tuesday, March 19.
