Toccoa Little League to host Little League tournaments at Doyle Street Park

Doyle Street Park is home for this year’s District 7 Sandlot and Rookie baseball tournaments.       The Toccoa Little league will host this year’s District 7 Sandlot and Rookie baseball tournaments starting this Saturday in Toccoa.       The tournament starts at 11 a.m.

Three Stephens County Indian football players will venture off into their college football careers together.       Walker Thomason, Vadole Fleming and Bryson Trimier signed to play football together at the University of Pikeville, a school with an enrollment of some 2,400 in Pikeville, Ky.

Stephens County baseball playoff run ends in Sweet 16 against Burke County

  The Stephens County Indians baseball team forced a decisive, winner-take-all third game in a second round state playoff series against Burke County there last week.      The Indians reached that decisive game on the strength of a no-hitter hurled by southpaw Cruz Mullinix in Game 2 of the series.

Stephens County Katie Grace Randall headed to state championships

The Stephens County golf team competed last week in Area golf tournament. The Tribe is sending SCHS Senior Katie Grace Randall to the state championships. Randall qualified as an individual qualifier with a score of 86 in the Area match. The SCHS boys team finished ninth out of 15 schools.

Stephens County Cam Lacy takes Region 8-AAA crown in long jump

 For the third season in a row, the Stephens County Indians track and field team sports a region champion.        This year’s new region champion for the team is Cam Lacy. Last week Lacy won the Region 8-AAA long jump championship in competition at East Jackson HIgh School in Commerce.
