At the age of 71 Harley Atkinson of Toccoa isn’t ready for assisted living just yet as he still laces up his skates and hits the hockey rink to compete.       Atkinson said he still loves the sport and the rush it provides.

 After being bounced into the sectional tournament’s loser’s bracket, the Toccoa Sandlot All-Stars battled back to win a game and postpone elimination last week in Athens.

Martinez-Evans handed the Toccoa Sandlot All-Stars their first loss in the double elimination sectional tournament on Saturday in Athens.        Toccoa could not keep up with the Martinez-Evans offensive attack in the 17-6 sectional opener.

 It came down to an out at home or a game-tying run.    The Toccoa Rookie League All-Stars recorded the out and in the process denied the game tying run to defeat Franklin County 11-10 for the District 7 title here last week.      “It feels good,” Toccoa manager Chris Ivey, said.
