Stephens County Cross Country host first home meet since 2009

The Stephens County Cross Country teams hosted their first home meet in 13 years. The Reservation Run featured three schools in the boys and girls divisions and was the first home cross country meet for the Indians since 2009.

Stephens County softball's hot bats not enough against Oconee County in region game

The Stephens County softball bats were hot when they faced Oconee County last week. Although SCHS piled on runs their bats were not enough in the 16-8 loss to Oconee County last week at The Reservation. “I was very satisfied with the bats,” SCHS head coach David Poffenberger said.

Plans for minor league pro basketball team to come into town

There are plans for a professional basketball team to come to Toccoa.       That team is the Georgia Kangaroos who are part of the East Coast Basketball League.       Brian Caswell is the head coach of the team and owner of the organization.

Stephens County Volleyball drop two in tri-match against Rabun Gap and Tallulah Falls

     The Stephens County Lady Indian volleyball team dropped two matches in a tri-match against Rabun Gap and Tallulah Falls played here last week at Currahee Arena.       The Lady Indians fell to Rabun Gap 2-1 (25-18, 24-26, 15-10) and Tallulah Falls 2-0 (26-24, 25-14).

Stephens County football blows out White County 53-14 in homecoming win

  The Stephens County Indian football team cruised to a dominating 53-14 win over White County on homecoming last Friday at The Reservation.       The win seemed easy as the Indians piled on touchdown after touchdown early in the game to lead 44-7 at halftime.

Stephens County Middle School football falls to Elbert County on the final play

It was a long wait before the game’s first score when the Stephens County Middle School football team played against Elbert County. The game did not see a score nearly the whole entire game. Both teams did not score throughout three quarters.

Stephens County defeats Flowery Branch 27-11

The Stephens County football team took down Class 5 A opponent Flowery Branch in a 27-11 win last Friday at The Reservation. The Indians had a challenge against a program who previously defeated St. Pius the previous week.

Stephens County football comes up short in 14-7 final against Rabun County

 The Stephens County Indian football team came up short of pulling off a victory over traditionally strong Rabun County losing 14-7 in a weather-delayed game played in Tiger last Friday night.
