Stephens County tennis teams beat Monroe Area in Region 8-AAA match

     Stephens County High School tennis teams rolled to a pair of Region 8-AAA victories last week.       The SCHS teams earned another region win under their belt when the SCHS boys defeated Monroe Area 4-1 and the Lady Indians blanked the Lady Purple Hurricanes 5-0 last Thursday in Toccoa.

Stephens County Girls' Soccer late rally falls short to East Jackson 2-1

  The late push was not enough for the Stephens County Lady Indians soccer team as they absorbed a 2-1 defeat here last week.      East Jackson gave the Lady Indians their first Region 8-AAA loss.        “That was tough,” SCHS head coach Erin Fleming said.

Stephens County baseball earn two wins against Habersham Central and Cherokee Bluff

  On Friday, Feb. 25, the Indians dispatched rival Habersham Central 10-7 at the Reservation and avenged an early season loss to the Raiders.       The next day, Stephens pulled off an upset by defeating Class AAA No. 5-ranked Cherokee Bluff 11-5 in a game played here.

Stephens County Boys' soccer falls to Madison County 2-0

  Try as they might, the Stephens County Indian  soccer team couldn’t find a goal amidst their arsenal during a 2-0 loss to Madison County here last week.     “I thought we played well,” SCHS head coach Robert Worsley, said.

Stephens County Girls' soccer falls to Madison County 3-0

  Visting Madison County topped the Stephens County Lady Indians 3-0 in a soccer match played here on Wednesday, Feb. 23.     “Today we just struggled,” SCHS head coach Erin Fleming said after the game.      “I think we just struggled to ground things and bring things in control,” Fleming said.

Stephens County tennis teams earn wins against White County

Stephens County High School tennis teams swept a pair of matches against White County last week.      On Tuesday, Feb. 15 the Indian boys rolled to a 4-1 triumph over the Warriors.     Notching a victory for  the Tribe was Griffin Wilkinson as he won 6-0, 6-0 in straight sets at No. 1 singles.
