The 2020 Ida Cox Music Series, delayed by a month due to the coronavirus pandemic, will begin Saturday, July 4 and continue through Sept. 26.
This year’s opening act will be one of the 2019 Open Mic Monday winners, Garrett Lott.
He will perform from 7-7:45 p.m.

After a long absence, people saw Lions on the prowl Saturday morning, June 13 along Falls Road between Broad Street and the entrance to Toccoa Falls College and the hospital.
People actually stopped and talked to the Lions, at a safe distance, when they saw then sniffing at the trash and litter.

Rits sets summer movie schedule

The Ritz Theatre, shuttered since early March because of the coronavirus pandemic, will re-open on Thursday, July 2.
The theater, built in 1939, will re-open as the Main Street program will kick off its first summer movies of the year.
There will be restrictions, however.

Football summer workouts begin

Stephens County High School athletic teams – including the football Indians – have been cleared for traditional voluntary summer workouts.
However, the approach to those workouts is anything but traditional.

Toccoa supports Class of 2020

The City of Toccoa undertook its part to support the Stephens County High School Class of 2020.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic across the nation, the Class of 2020 was unable to have a physical graduation ceremony.
Instead, a graduation parade was held in downtown Toccoa on May 22.

North Georgia Technical College (NGTC) has announced the winners of the recent photography contest entitled The Future, Now.
More than 80 entries from across the region were received from high school and college students.
The first place winner is Anna Brown of Danielsville.
